R U ICT o pus?
For those of you that have not yet come across ‘Ictopus‘, I suggest you take a look. Ictopus is a free support service for primary education launched in September earlier this year. Ictopus builds on the highly successful Becta Direct2U service and also the legacy of MAPE. Each week registered members of the service have access to an e-newsletter - Sharing Good Practice, a range of resources, classroom activities and projects. There are over 3,500 registered users already, so take a look at signing up. In the latest newsletter, Linda Hartley writes about using blogs, wikis and other forms of social software for informal professional development, highlighting how Web 2.0 can enhance teaching practice. Linda pinpoints the Classroom Display Group on Flickr, the Classroom Displays blog and Usefulwiki, which aims to become a major sharing place for free educational resources for use in schools and at home. For more background information take a look at Linda’s blog.
