Blogging and Pedagogy
Anne Davis makes some interesting comments in Ed Tech Insider, an online community devoted to discussion of technology solutions for the daily challenges that eduators face. In her piece on Blogging and Pedagogy, Anne highlights the many attributes of blogging that show promise for developing pedagogies in whatever content area is being taught. Attributes such as audience, voice, dialogue, ownership and archiving. All food for thought to facilitate learning.
Anne has also written a piece on ways to use blogs in education, and lists some fabulous ideas for getting students started with blogging, e.g. student reactions to work or thought provoking questions, online book club, class newsletter, results of surveys and ideas and opinions about certain topics. Definitely worth checking out to stimulate those little grey cells!
